  • I want to record some videos. How is the iPhone 3GS video quality?

The 3GS video quality is high enough that we’d consider this a viable stand-in for lower end camcorders or flip cams. For example you don’t need to come packing a ton of gear, alternatively you can use your iPhone 3GS to capture your kids at the park, this can produces totally reasonable results.

  • How to record video on iPhone 3GS?

Users must tap or slide the Camera/Video switch to Video icon and then tap the Record video button to start recording. The record button blinks while the Camera is recording. To stop recording, tap the same button again. You can also press the center button on the iPhone headset to start and stop recording and, if you take a picture or record a video with the device rotated sideways, the picture is automatically saved in landscape orientation.

  • How to edit video on iPhone 3GS?

Tapping the screenshot on your iPhone 3GS will open up the iPhone video review window where you can review and watch the video that was recorded. From this screen, you can find the editing feature called “trimming the video”. It can be used to edit out parts of the video as well as reduce the length of the video.

You can go to the review screen tap on the screen to bring up the controls. The edit controls on the iPhone include a Cancel button, a Trim button, and a scrolling mini-frame viewer that shows your video frame by frame.

Use your finger to drag and cut out portions of the video. Frames within the the yellow border of the frame viewer will remain while those shaded outside of the border will be deleted.

When you are satisfied with the iPhone 3GS video trimming, you can tap on the yellow “Trim” button on the top right of the iPhone’s screen to complete the trimming.

  • Can I undo my editing of videos on iPhone 3GS?

It is very convenient that you can grab and cut video in-phone without having to offload anywhere else, but please keep in mind that is kind of destructive editing of the clips. As it is now, once you cut something down, you’re done — there’s no way to retrieve the full length version of the source video.  You may lose your recorded video on your iPhone 3GS by editing it.
