Find the IP Address of an iOS device
Sometimes it is useful to get to know your iOS device IP address. From the IP address of your iOS device, you will know which wireless router/network it is connected to, so you can change some settings on the router for your iOS device.
For iOS wireless file exchange app users, one most important step is to connect up their devices to the same wi-fi network for file sharing. By verifying the IP address on an iOS device and computer, they can ensure the devices to be connected to the same network or router for file exchanges.
How to Find the IP Address of an iOS device?
To find out the iOS device IP address is straight forward. You can follow below steps.
- Tap on the Settings icon on the home screen of your iOS device to start the Settings app.
- Tap on Wi-Fi Networks from the Settings app.
- Find the active Wi-Fi network name of the wireless router your iOS device is currently connected to. Tap the blue arrow button next to the active network name.
- You will find the iOS device IP address as below:
In this example, we assume you use a DHCP address for your iOS device. If your iOS device is using a static IP address or BootP, you can tap those tabs to find the IP address of your iOS device.
